Paul and Vincent is a multimedia CD
that incorporates a recording of the sell-out theatrical production at the
2004 4MBS Festival starring Brisbane actors Eugene Gilfedder and Michael
Churven,
and
featuring images of the works by Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh as well
as music from the period.
Based on Gauguin’s reflections of his stormy
relationship with Vincent at Arles, France, the production brings the personalities
of the two artists alive.
This interactive CD will appeal to anyone interested in the life and personality
of Gauguin and van Gogh, as well as the dilemmas facing artists living in
isolation
in furtherance of their art.
It will also appeal to viewers interested in
how new media can be adapted to innovative projects such as this.
